I'll be the first to admit I'm a total sucker for Shu Uemura brushes. Kolinsky holds a special place in my heart, and I've been spoiled by it. No other brushes can match the sheer softness (and probably price as well). Their other brushes are also of utmost quality, so I hoped for the same from the limited edition Tsumori Chisato Mini Brush Set.
They are made of the same hairs that other Shu brushes are created from, but hairs of a lesser quality were selected to fit the price point. I don't recommend buying these for your main brushes, but they make a great and affordable supplement and are travel ready, not to mention that the winking cat on the cover is adorable. The limited edition Tsumori Chisato Mirror also fits nicely inside the little pouch.
The face/cheek brush can be scratchy but it's the perfect shape and size for applying a contouring powder. The synthetic eye shadow brush is great for applying cream shadows, and the bristles are stiff enough to apply a thin line of color with the brush. The natural eye shadow brush reminds me of my Natural Brush 10, a well used favorite in my small collection made of kolinsky and sable, but the brush in the set is of a much lower quality--which is understandable once again from the price point. The lip/eyeliner brush is much too thin for lipstick (but you can do precision work with it for darker colors), but it's great for gel eyeliners.
