When I first read "Jupiter Brown" I immediately cringed. Brown is not a flattering shade of lipstick on me and I think of it kind of as an "old person" shade on the lips. Most shades of brown wield the unfortunate power to make anyone's lips look drab and make the wearer look ill or unhealthy. Then I actually went to my local Nordies and took a swatch on the back of my hand and found it wasn't really brown. Maybe a darker nude-ish rosy color...okay, it's a brownish pink. It's surprisingly wearable and I find myself wearing it nearly every day.
The packaging is almost worth the entire price tag--how cute is that kitty? And on the back, you can find its tail. As cute as the packaging may be, the case seems to wobble a bit when I apply, and nothing about it invokes the feeling of luxury. There's a light fruity scent, and the lipstick is packed with shimmer. The formula is thin (but rather opaque!) and glides on easily. The finish has some sheen to it and it's lightly hydrating. Don't expect this to be a long wearing color, and make sure to exfoliate your lips before you apply!
